[Yayoi Kusama at Tate Modern]

A while ago I have visited Yayoi Kusama's exposition at Tate Modern.Well,it took me a while to analyze the information received and understand my turn ons/offs.

Yayoi Kusama has always been something crazy, experimental  for me.I was really looking forward to the visit, especially to see Obliteration and Mirror rooms.
The whole exposition was something like a time-span of Kusama's art evolution. She is an artist who has taken art through all her life, always exploring new ways to express herself, new movements, new media.Paintings, drawings, collages, fashion, photography, installations, even filming.

Tate got ready for her visit as well:giant red balloons in dots were hanging everywhere, catching attention of everyone and getting the curious about the show.Ticket price was quite high - 8.50 for students, around 10 for adults. On the entrance everyone was given a booklet with short biography of the artist and explanations of some works.
Each room was devoted to one of the area, all works put in a right sequence and style,so even audience with no background knowledge could understand what's going on,see her development, somehow take a "peep" on how she was thinking and creating her works.

People around were very different-Kusama is famous enough to get attention not only from artistic audience, but from normal Earth people too. Some of them were reading posters with explanations and spending a while exploring every object, some of them looked shocked and lost.As I have noticed, mostly people were fascinated by big rooms with her famous installations. The highest popularity took the Mirror room, which was closing the exhibition, and it was not a surprise to anyone. It felt like the room takes you to some parallel reality, new dimension. It feels like you are lost in space.Unfortunately, room was really small and it kind of killed the feeling.

My favourite works of her are Mirror room, obliteration room and some of pattern paintings.
I think Kusama is the person, who can really bring this unreal feeling with her works,it's like a Wonderland, all looks so magical, crazy, abnormal. It doesn't just catch your attention, but makes you live through each work.
